The Well-Lived Home
/Wellness, sustainability, and healthy homes in Lafayette, CO
I believe a home should be more than just a place to begin and end your day. It’s a representation of what you value.
I’m Gretchen Heine, a residential real estate specialist with milehimodern in Lafayette, Colorado. I see home as an opportunity to enhance your health, support the planet, and create a safe environment that lets you age in place.
I created The Well-Lived Home because I couldn’t find a place to learn about building a sustainable, healthy home that supports me through every stage of life. So I decided to build that place myself.
What you’ll get each week
Every week I’ll bring you wellness and sustainability ideas for your home, along with guidance for buyers on finding a home that offers the core pieces of a healthy space. I’ll share tips for current homeowners on enhancing their home’s wellness score, and how to make your home stand out in a competitive market by highlighting the steps you’ve taken toward a healthier home. And I’ll bring you weekly insights into the Lafayette real estate market.
If you view your home as an extension of your wellbeing, or aspire to have a home that offers opportunities to improve your overall health, you’ve come to the right place.
A place to start
One of the easiest, low-cost ways to improve your home’s health is to open your windows for five to ten minutes a day and let in fresh air. Indoor air can often be more harmful than outdoor air: home furnishings and household cleaners give off toxins that can trigger headaches and aggravate asthma.
